Snake in a Rose Bush
This morning I woke to discover a swarm of fire ants attacking my pump and the bottle from last night. Made me quite stabby. Fire ants need to meet their end. Right now. With a flamethrower. Okay…maybe that’s a little dramatic. But seriously…And one of those suckers bit me between my toes.
While Super T and I were squashing ants, something became immediately apparent. We were being watched. By this:
At first I was concerned that it was poisonous. In which case, that snake would’ve met a grisly end. But, thanks to the Google, we identified it as a rat snake. So it is free to slither around outside my house killing rats.
I’d be lying if I said it didn’t creep me out. I’m sure I should say something about the beauty of nature or whatever but right now I just want the ants out of my house and the snake out of sight somewhere we won’t meet. Yay, nature!
